We are delighted to announce that we have updated our smart contract language on the Partisia Blockchain to Rust and Wasm (WebAssembly). In line with our roadmap development plans, the new language, which facilitates a smooth and more efficient experience for developers, is now deployed on betanet. With precise and formalized semantics, the new language is simple and easy to navigate for contract developers and most importantly, it offers the privacy functionality that is essential for Partisia Blockchain’s aims, by seamlessly enabling multi-party computation (MPC) and other types of zero knowledge computation (ZKC).

During the testnet stage, Wasm contracts will…

Renowned cryptographer Christian Cachin; NFT authority Nick O’Neill; cyber security expert Nagib Aouini join the team building an MPC-powered blockchain for the greater good

Today, we’re proud to announce three new strategic appointments: Christian Cachin, Nagib Aouini and Nick O’Neill.

Partisia Blockchain represents the first successful complete integration of blockchain technology with another commercial grade type of distributed cryptography, Secure Multi-Party Computation (MPC). This combination of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) with privacy-enhancing software allows enterprises to experience the advantages of decentralized technologies while still guaranteeing that data remains private and secure.

The cutting-edge solution to decentralization’s confidentiality and privacy challenges…

MILESTONE ALERT

Our team celebrated the launch of the first smart contract available for developers to deploy on Partisia Blockchain. The smart contract powers voting on issues and includes an interface via our block explorer for end-users to submit votes.

The decision to move forward with voting as our first smart contract was driven by our fascination with the rise of DAOs, or Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. While Partisia Blockchain is not structured as a DAO, we strongly believe in the argument that DAOs are the organizational form for the internet.

Smart contracts on Partisia Blockchain contain infinite possibilities — but…

In this post I will describe how the Partisia Blockchain infrastructure for MPC-as-a-Service works. I assume the reader is familiar with earlier posts in the series on Blockchain and MPC.

The purpose of the infrastructure is to offer MPC-as-a-service. Service Buyers can rent servers and software to run an MPC. Clients can give secret input to the MPC. Computations can be performed on the secret inputs, and selected outputs can be made public. I first describe the individual actors in the infrastructure and then discuss how they interact to…

Did you know, the use case that brought MPC from theory to real-life practice was an auction?

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have generated huge global interest in recent months. One of the greatest challenges faced in the digital world is that until now, it has been almost impossible to tell the difference between an original piece of digital content, and a copy.

Recent NFT art auctions, beginning with Beeple’s auction of a piece of NFT for $69.3m at Christies, caught the world’s attention. …

This post will outline some of the key ideas behind one of the most celebrated protocols for MPC, the SPDZ protocol.

The SPDZ protocol, pronounced SPeeDz, will soon be turning 10 years old and gets its name from a cheeky permutation of the initials of its authors: Damgård, Pastro, Smart, and Zakarias. Today, when people refer to SPDZ they don’t only refer to the original protocol, but also to its most recent versions with improved techniques and optimizations. Some publicly available implementations of SPDZ include: FRESCO, MP-SPDZ, SCALE-MAMBA.
